A student seminar was organized by the Geography Program under the School of Tribal Resource Management on 11th July 2023 to observe World Population Day. According to United Nation the theme was “Unleashing the power of gender equality: Uplifting the voices of women and girls to unlock our world’s infinite possibilities”.  Faculty members, Research Scholars and Student of the school were present in the seminar.

At the outset, Dr. Arpana Premi Lina Oraon, Associate Professor welcomed all. She introduced the theme and importance of girls education, causes of population increase and the importance of observation World Population day. Shruti Khalkho, Research Scholar explained about the Overpopulation issues and women’s role in the society. Gyanendra Dharua, Research Scholar focused on the four point of population- Family planning, poverty, Human rights and Marital health. Rasan Bhengra, research scholar emphasis the two types of population planning with Positive and negative measures. Deepak Nayak, Sita Marandi, Paulus Oreya, Himanshu Dharua and students spoke on this day.

Dr. Anwesha Chakraborty, Assistant Professor and Mrs. Saurava Goswami, Lecturer conclude the seminar with positive feedback for the student how they explained very well and shared their views and thoughts on this day and proposed a formal vote of thanks.
