The IQAC Team of KISS-DU attended Training Workshop on All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE), Odisha organized by AISHE State Unit, Odisha, NCDS Bhubaneswar and sponsored by Ministry of Education Government of India on 22nd March 2024. KISS-DU was represented by Dr. Snigdharani Panda, Chairperson Council of Deans, Dr. Disha Bhatt Dy. Director IQAC and Er. Atul Nag, Associate Professor.
Dr. Rashmi Mishra, the State Nodal Officer, AISHE Odisha delivered the Welcome Address and briefed about the theme of the workshop. She highlighted the current status of AISHE data uploaded by various higher education institutions. The Deputy Director General, Ministry of Education, Government of India Mr. R Rajesh spoke about the phenomenal achievement of Odisha in furnishing data of HEIs. He stressed on the importance of uploading accurate data on various portals like GATI Shakti, Prayas. While sharing the various platforms where AISHE data is used, he added that the UNESCO Institute of Statistics, Governement and various other UN bodies are using the data uploaded on AISHE.
The Additional Commissioner cum Secretary Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha and Chairman AISHE in his address reflected the relationship between development and education. He opined that education is a key component of development. He appreciated the rise in number of female enrolment in higher education and research. He concluded by stressing on the need for uploading data in the portal and maintain the sacrosancy of the data.
The technical session 1 was about various modalities of AISHE, discussion on WebDCF and technical session was 2 was on discussion on registration of institutions and uploading data in WebDCF.
Dr. Disha Bhatt represented KISS-DU on behalf of all the higher education institutions and proposed vote of thanks to the representatives and resource persons from the Ministry of Education, AISHE State Unit and all the participants.
