The retiring Vice-Chancellor of KISS Deemed to be University, Prof. Harekrishna Satapathy was accorded a touching farewell today, on completion of his three-year tenure. His tenure witnessed the institution rise to new heights of success and recognition. Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University has been assigned the additional responsibility as VC-in-Charge of KISS – DU.

On the occasion of formal change of guard, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS recounted the contributions of Prof. Satapathy, while he was at the helm. KISS attaining the status of a Deemed to be University in 2017 is the greatest landmark during his tenure, he said. While praying for the well-being of Prof. Satapathy and his family, Dr. Samanta extended his best wishes to the new incumbent Prof. Sasmita Samanta.

Prof. Sasmita Samanta is taking over as the Vice Chancellor-In-Charge at a crucial juncture when the entire world is in the throes of the Covid-19 pandemic. The education system in particular is striving to adapt to the new normal. Going by her past record of exemplary resilience and prudence, she would lead her team from the front to new heights of glory, the distinguished speakers exuded confidence.

Shri R. N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT & KISS; Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KIIT-DU; and Dr. Iswar Chandra Naik, Associate Dean also spoke on the occasion, bidding a fond farewell to the former Vice-Chancellor and extending a warm welcome to the new VC-In-Charge. Among others, the Core Committee Members of KISS – DU graced the ceremony.
