A “One–Day awareness programme on ORCID and INFLIBNET services for Scholarly Communities” was organised by Central Library, C. V. Raman Global University, Bhubaneswar on 27th February, 2024.
Speaking at the Inauguration and Valedictory Sessions Prof. Sudhindra Nath Panda, Vice Chancellor, CGU highlighted the role of libraries in enabling scholars to identify research problems and how improvements in process have helped the processes. He also exhorted the academic community to research problems that would make India Atmanirbhar.
Dr. Kanan P., Scientist E, Inflibnet, spoke about the importance of having a unique ID in research and the role played by ORCID in enhancing interoperability in using and curating research publications. He also explained the working of IRINS as a research information system for dissemination of information by HEIs. He also encouraged the setup of Institutional Repositories for wider availability of research publications.
Shri Pallab Pradhan, Scientist C, Inflibnet, introduced the various services provided by Inflibnet for the academic community. He also spoke about Shodh Chakra by Inflibnet as an Institutional Research Information and Institutional Repository for managing the scholars and research guides in HEIs.
Dr. Prasanna Kumar Barik, Chief Librarian, CGU and Nodal Officer for the event, offered a vote of thanks emphasised the establishment of collaborations and highlighted the role of libraries in facilitating scholars.
Mr. Rabin Kumar Khandayatray, Chief Librarian and Mr. Atul Nag, Associate Professor, attended the workshop and highlighted the setting up of the KISS-DU IRNIS and Institutional Repository.
