A student Seminar was organized on Human Rights Day on 10th December 2023. The theme was “Climate Change and Human Rights.” The students shared their opinions and suggestions during the deliberations. They cited the reasons which lead to climate change and how it impacts Human Rights. Climate change impacts directly and indirectly many national and international human rights and there is a dire need to act upon it at the earliest, they added. Further, they said that there is a need for integrating human rights in climate change related actions and shed light on which human rights principles are applicable in the case of climate change. They spoke at length on the various human rights which are most affected by climate change, to name a few: The right to life, The right to self-determination, The right to development, The right to food, The right to water and sanitation etc.
