Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University,  Bhubaneswar organized an event on Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain 2023 on 28th April 2023. The event was organized jointly by the School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures (SCTLL) and the School of Tribal Resource Management (STRM), KISS DU. The chief speaker of the event was Ms Sourava Goswami, Faculty, Geography Programme, School of Tribal Resource Management, KISS DU. Dr. Rasmita Tripathy, Dean, School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures, chaired the event. Faculty, scholars and students of both the Schools showed active participation in the event.

The event started with a welcome address by Dr. Rasmita Tripathy. The chief speaker of the event, Ms. Sourava Goswami, addressed the students and sensitized them about water conservation. She stressed the importance of conserving and preserving water and the consequences of water scarcity. She urged the students to take the initiative to conserve water in their daily lives. In her speech, she highlighted the sensitivity and depth of the problem created by water wastage and the importance of saving water for future generation. Ms. Goswami concluded the session by sharing many modern ways of water conservation to the students and scholars. The students actively participated in the event and shared their ideas and thoughts on water conservation.

The Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Chittaranjan Bhoi, Associate Professor in English, Head of English Programme, School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures and Director, Human Resource Development Centre. He thanked the speakers and participants for their active participation in the event and urged everyone to spread awareness about water conservation. During his speech, he expressed gratitude to all the senior functionaries of the university, organizers and others who contributed in making the event a success.
