Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar celebrated World Entrepreneur’s Day on 21st August 2023 in collaboration Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) Foundation. BCKIC organised an event that included inspiring talks, Spark-O-Thon, Idea Competition and an interactive Entrepreneurship Quiz from 3:00 to 06:30 PM. The event was attended by 60 students of different schools of KISS-DU.
The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Gouri Shankar Beriha, Assistant Professor of the School of Tribal Resource Management. He expressed his gratitude to all the participants and highlighted the importance of World Entrepreneur’s Day. Mr. Jayanta Kumar Mohanty, Head of Strategic Alliance of BCKIC Foundation, was the resource person. 7 teams pitched their ideas before a jury. Mr Aamar Muska, Mr Sanjib Kumar Mallick and Ms Shruti Khalko secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively. Mr. Aamar presented a low-cost DNA isolation protocol; Mr. Sanjib pitched about the benefits of jackfruit chips and underlined that it is highly nutritious and rich in fibre. Ms. Shruti showcased indigenous organic handmade clothing, sustainable, fair trade and eco-friendly practices. A quiz competition followed the event.
