The School of Tribal Resource Management in collaboration with the Centre for Indigenous Innovation and Entrepreneurship organized National Entrepreneurship Week from 11th February 2023 to 16th February 2023. To mark the inaugural session, Professor Kamlesh Mishra, Co-Founder Abba Kabba Overseas (P) Ltd. Odisha was invited as the esteemed speaker. Senior functionaries, faculty, research scholars and students graced the event. A talk on ‘Entrepreneurship’ was organized with the intention to educate, inspire and motivate students to become entrepreneurs.

On this occasion, the guest speaker, discussed about the definition of an entrepreneur from a practical perspective and highlighted the challenges faced by both budding as well as established entrepreneurs. Professor Mishra gave insights and ideas that one needs to keep in mind while naming a firm or business.  There was detailed discussion on the pre-requisites to become a successful entrepreneur. It was an interactive seminar followed by question-and-answer session by the students.

The concluding remarks and a Vote of Thanks was proposed by Professor R. N. Swain, Professor in Commerce, School of Tribal Resource Management, KISS-DU.

Seminar on Entrepreneurship

A student’s seminar on “Entrepreneurship” was organized on 13th February, 2023. The theme for student’s seminar was ” Entrepreneurship: Owning your future”, a total of 36 students were participated and 8 students presented in the seminar. Students presented on various topics related to theme. They discussed about the concept of an entrepreneur and entrepreneurship. They various presentations highlighted the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and how to overcome them.  Some students gave insights on the key skills of an entrepreneur. The concept of women entrepreneurship was also detailed by various students in their presentations. There was in-depth discussion on the requisites to become an entrepreneur. It was an interactive seminar followed by question-and-answer session by the student audience. The event was a part of the 2nd day celebration of the Entrepreneurship Week.

Presentation Competition

A Presentation Competition on the theme “Case study on famous Entrepreneurs” on 14th February 2023. A total of 21 students participated and 7 students presented in the seminar. Students presented on the famous entrepreneurs of India and Odisha. They students presented on famous entrepreneurs like Vandana Luthra, Kalpana Saroj, Aman Gupta, Sreelakshmi Suresh and Phalguni Joshi. The presentations highlighted the early life and challenges faced by these entrepreneurs .  Some students gave insights on the key skills of these entrepreneur. The current status of these entrepreneurs and how they have become successful by countering their failures . It was an interactive seminar followed by question-and-answer session by the student audience. The event was remarked as the third day of the National Entrepreneurship Week.

Poster Competition

A Poster Competition on the theme “Trade and Commerce in Digital Era” was jointly organized on 15th Feb 2023. A total of 10 students participated in the competition. Students ’posters portrayed the use of digitalization and technology to connect the world and ease the process of commerce. The students pictured how commerce has grown using technology. The event was remarked as the Fourth day of the National Entrepreneurship Week and will be followed by a Quiz competition for students in the coming days of observation.

Quiz Competition

A Quiz Competition on the theme ” Start-up India and famous Entrepreneurs of India” was organized on 16th February 2023. A total of 51 students participated from the school. The Quiz duration was 1 hour wherein the students with enthusiasm and keen interest appeared the Quiz. The event was remarked as the Fifth day of the National Entrepreneurship Week and was be followed by Prize and certificate distribution.
