KISS Deemed to be University (KISS-DU), Bhubaneswar inked MoU with University of Malaga (UMA), Spain on 21st February 2022. This MoU strives to develop academic and educational cooperation and lay emphasis on collaborative research and publications, joint academic activities like webinars, conferences and workshops. The ceremony was graced by the virtual presence of eminent dignitaries from UMA: Dr E. Beatriz Blazquez Parra, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Mobility, Dr Miriam Seghiri Dominguez, Director of UMA International Hub and Dr Jose Jesus Delgado Pena, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and key functionaries and faculty members from KISS-DU.

In his welcome address, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice-Chancellor, KISS-DU said, “This MoU lays emphasis on Exchange of academics, researchers and administrative staff; Exchange of degree and postgraduate students; Conducting collaborative research projects and training activities; Joint projects of cultural nature, organization of international conferences, workshops and seminars and Promoting any other co-operation of mutual interest”. Introducing  KISS, Professor Behera shared that this pristine institution is catering to the educational needs of indigenous students and praised the efforts of  Founder, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, as a true institution builder.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Susana Cabrera Yeto, Vice-President, for International Mobility and Cooperation, University of Malaga, Spain presented a brief profile of the University of Malaga including the opportunities, educational programmes. She was elated to share that UMA has over 350 international associations. Dr Susana added that these associations include student exchange programmes and international programmes with ERASMUS and ERASMUS MUNDAS. “We are aware of the social initiatives of KISS and glad to already have a positive association with KISS through the ongoing AURORA Project for Capacity Building for Teachers of Higher Education (CBHE).” She concluded her address by sharing the key objectives of the Project.

Dr Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU said “It is an honour to sign an MoU with a premier institution like the University of Malaga. We wish to carry forward the activities mentioned in the MoU. KISS-DU is happy to have an existing association with UMA in a consortium, wherein both the universities are working for AURORA Project. The MoU Signing Ceremony was initiated and organized by Dr Snigdharani Panda, Dean, School of Tribal Resource Management, KISS-DU.
