Dr. Sujata Acharya, Associate Professor of Education and Dean, School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology, KISS Deemed to be University has been selected by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), based on the institutional nomination, to participate in the One-Week Experiential Faculty Development Programme (FDP) for the Eastern Zone – Bhubaneswar Centre.

The programme is being organised by VBUSS, in knowledge partnership with NCTE and IUCTE-BHU, with a focus on strengthening experiential understanding of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and innovative approaches to teacher education.

The inaugural sessions of the programme featured insightful deliberations on major academic initiatives under NEP 2020, providing participants with an opportunity to engage with emerging perspectives and transformative approaches in education.

As part of the experiential component, participants visited various Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandirs of the state for  Vidyalaya Darshana. The visit offered a meaningful and immersive learning experience, with special exposure to the principles of Panchakosha, Panchapadi Pedagogy, and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) in the context of school education.

Dr. Acharya’s participation in this prestigious faculty development programme is a significant academic achievement for the institution and reflects its continued commitment to promoting NEP 2020, indigenous knowledge traditions, experiential learning, and innovative pedagogical practices.
