The Research and Development Cell (R&DC), KISS Deemed to be University successfully organized a session on “Research Proposal Writing” on 6th December 2025 at the 2nd Floor Conference Hall, KISS-DU, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by the Registrar, Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, who highlighted the importance of structured research proposals in securing competitive funding and advancing academic excellence.
This was followed by an insightful address by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Professor Saranjit Singh, who emphasized the significance of quality research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the need for faculty and scholars to actively participate in national funding opportunities such as ICSSR.
Subsequently, Professor Damodar Jena, the expert team from KIIT Deemed to be University was formally introduced to the participants. The team conducted an engaging presentation and discussion session, providing valuable guidance on effective research proposal writing, including key components, common pitfalls, and strategies for aligning proposals with funding agency expectations.
To present an example of writing research proposals, focused discussion was then held on the shortlisted ICSSR proposals, where participants received constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement from the expert team. This interactive segment allowed faculty members and researchers to refine their proposals in line with evaluation criteria.
The session also included a Q&A and doubt-clearing segment, where participants actively engaged with the experts to address their queries related to proposal structure, methodology, and submission processes.
Further, a roadmap for proposal submission was outlined, with clear timelines leading up to 15th December 2025 for ICSSR proposal submissions. This provided participants with a structured plan to complete and submit their proposals effectively.
The program concluded with closing remarks and a vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the distinguished speakers, expert team, and participants for their active involvement and valuable contributions. The entire program was coordinated by the Director, R&DC, Dr. Arpana Premi Lina Oraon, whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the session.
Overall, the session was highly informative and beneficial for faculty members and researchers, equipping them with essential skills and insights for developing high-quality research proposals.
