The Hon’ble Chancellor, KISS-DU, Shri. Satya Sundar Tripathi interacted with the newly appointed Teaching Staff of KISS-DU on 19th July 2022.  At the outset, Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU welcomed all the members present in the meeting.

Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice-Chancellor, KISS-DU introduced the Hon’ble Chancellor and briefed them about the milestones achieved by him. Professor Behera also spoke about the university and its distinctiveness including the key areas of operation. With this, Professor Behera requested the newly appointed faculty members to introduce themselves and also asked them to share their research interests.

Shri. Satya S. Tripathi in his address said that it is great to be here this morning and congratulated all the new faculty members.  He added that there is a lot of dignity in all the things we do in life and human beings have been here for thousands of years, You come across many people and we remember few people because of their life stories and contributions.  He asked, what is your story? Do you feel proud of your story?  Everybody’s story is equally important and we should think 5 years from now about what would be our story in the course of our journey at KISS-DU.  He asked them to self-introspect and what did you contribute here?  Did you make KISS a better place during your tenure? The moral of this institution is to make education accessible to those who don’t have access to it and there is tremendous opportunity in this institution.

He added, always listen to your calling and as a teacher, one needs to explore ideas and bring in innovations. Shri Tripathi also explained the qualities of a good teacher and said that if the last child in your class shines then you succeed as a teacher. Further, he added that Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude are the core things that a teacher should have.  He urged the newly appointed teaching staff to have conversations with the students to inspire them and that is what they will remember after passing out.  We remember our teachers because they had laid the foundation. We are building one of the best libraries in the country and we must encourage the students to read which will help them discover a fascinating world.

Shri Tripathi also shared the lessons of life from childhood and how they contributed to shaping him as a human being.  He also spoke about the importance of human relationships.  He shared his views on the cross-fertilisation of ideas among faculty members from different disciplines. He quoted, “Give selflessly as you can, give as meaningfully as you can” The more you read the more you give, concluded Shri. Satya S. Tripathi.

The Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar congratulated the Research Scholars of KISS-DU who have completed their Ph.D. and have joined as teaching staff in the University.

The Chancellor’s speech was followed by an interaction session with the newly recruited faculty members. Dr. Rajan, one of the newly recruited faculty members from the Philosophy Programme proposed a vote of thanks.
