A speech competition on the theme “Indian Value System, Nari Shakti and Bharat Mata” was successfully organized by the Gender Champion Cell in Collaboration with Gender Sensitization Cell and Centre for Women’s Studies of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University (KISS-DU). The objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about Indian cultural values, women empowerment, and national identity.
The programme began with a welcome address delivered by Dr. Pragyan Mohanty, who highlighted the importance of preserving Indian values and promoting gender sensitivity in contemporary society.
The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Monalisha Mishra, who ensured the smooth conduct of the programme and encouraged active student participation. An expert talk was delivered by Dr. Somanath Mishra, who provided deep insights into the concepts of “Nari Shakti and Bharat Mata”. The speaker emphasized the vital role of women in nation-building and the need to uphold ethical and cultural values in everyday life.
Students actively participated in the Speech Competition by students perspectives on the theme. Notable speech were delivered by Mr. Bijay Singh, Basant Jani, Mr. Bijay Krushika, Mr. Gajendra Juanga, Mr. Gautam Bhuiya, Hemlata Majhi, Neerupama Huika and Pramila Majhi. Their presentations reflected awareness about gender equality, cultural values, and the role of youth in promoting social harmony.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Ansul Basumatary, who expressed sincere gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers for making the event a success.
