Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Deemed to be University, in collaboration with the ICAR–Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA), Bhubaneswar, organised a Scientists–Student Interaction Programme on 6th November 2026 at KISS-DU.
The programme was organised as part of the commemoration of the Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, as a Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, honouring his invaluable contributions and legacy.

The primary objective of the programme was to promote scientific awareness and encourage meaningful interaction between eminent scientists and students, with particular emphasis on the role of science, technology and agricultural innovations in the development of Indigenous communities.

It also aimed to inspire students to pursue careers in science, innovation and research.

The programme further strengthened the academic and scientific collaboration between KISS-DU and ICAR-CIFA, fostering opportunities for knowledge sharing, research-oriented learning and institutional cooperation.

Overall, the programme was a meaningful initiative to connect scientific knowledge with the aspirations of Indigenous students, while commemorating the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and reaffirming the importance of education, research and innovation in community development.
