A one-day workshop titled – “Ideathon on Language and Identity: Impact on Tribal Youth Development” was successfully organized by Research and Development Cell, In Collaboration with School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures (SCTLL) & Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 20th July 2026 at KISS Deemed to be University. The primary objective of the event was to facilitate an in-depth discussion on how language and identity shape the personality, social awareness, cultural empowerment and overall development of tribal youth.
The workshop was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Sunaram Soren, Assistant Professor, Department of Santali, Dr. Arpana Premi Lina Oraon, Director, Research and Development Cell and Dr. Kadey Soren. The programme commenced with welcome address by Dr. Arpana Premi Lina Oraon, Research Director, who highlighted the objectives, significance, and academic relevance of the workshop.
Technical Session:
During the technical session, the Resource Person, Dr. Kadey Soren, delivered an insightful and research-oriented lecture on the core theme. He emphasized the importance of preserving tribal languages, strengthening cultural identity, and leveraging language for holistic youth development. His presentation offered fresh perspectives and encouraged participants to explore new avenues for research in this domain.
