Rupali Tudu, a girl from Mayurbhanj district had joined KISS in 2007 and pursued higher studies at KISS as well. Hailing from agriculture background, Rupali has seen many ups and downs in life. Her dreams realised into reality on 1st September 2025, when she successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis and earned the Doctorate degree from the Department of Commerce, School of Tribal Resource Management. The titled of her thesis was “Entrepreneurship among the Santal women in Mayurbhanj” and she completed her Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Parikhita Khatua, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, STRM and co-supervision of Dr. Liji Panda, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, STRM.
The external examiner, Dr. Ram Prahlad Choudhary, Department of Commerce, University of Kolkata, Professor Ranjan Kumar Bal, Professor Emeritus, KISS-DU made their valuable contributions respectively. Professor Emeritus Jaganath Lenka, Dr. Snigdharani Panda, Associate Professor and Professor Jyotirmay Mohanty were the esteemed RSC members.
In her research, Dr. Tudu has highlighted the role of Santali women in initiating and managing business, addressing challenges and creating employment opportunities leading to economic growth and empowerment within the community. In a conversation with Dr. Rupali Tudu, she thanked Professor Achyuta Samanta for providing the platform so that the research scholars can pursue higher education and contribute to the growth and development of their communities.
