The Departments of Geography, Natural Farming, and Renewable Energy under the School of Tribal Resource Management (STRM), KISS-DU, successfully organized an educational visit to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar, on 5 December 2025.
During the visit, students explored weather-related processes and forecasting techniques, interacted with scientists, and observed practical demonstrations and meteorological experiments. The experience provided them with valuable exposure to real-world applications of climate science, complementing their classroom learning with practical insights.
The visit was coordinated and attended by Dr. Monalisha Mishra, Head of the Department of Geography; Dr. Sushree Panda, Assistant Professor of Natural Farming; and Dr. Somnath Mishra, Assistant Professor of Renewable Energy. Their guidance ensured that students gained maximum benefit from the interactions and demonstrations.
This initiative reflects KISS-DU’s commitment to experiential learning and its dedication to equipping students with practical knowledge in climate science, sustainable farming, and renewable energy. By engaging with national institutions such as IMD, students are better prepared for future research and professional opportunities, strengthening their academic foundation while aligning with the University’s vision of integrating education with real-world impact.
