The School of Tribal Legal Studies and Tribal Rights organised a signature campaign on the theme Jal Shakti Abhiyan(JSA), an initiative of the Ministry of Jal Shakti: Catch The Rain 20023. The sub theme was Source Sustainability For Drinking Water which was driven by the Sustainable Develoment Goal – 6 Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all . The signature campaign was inaugurated in the Academic Building Entrance Hall on 11th April 2023 at by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, KISS-DU, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera,the other dignitaries present were Chairperson Council of Deans Dr.Snigdharani Panda,Prof.Emeritus KISS-DU Prof. N.C Dash, Prof. Namita Mohanty, Prof. Brahmananda Satpathy and Prof. Bijayananda Singh. Among others the faculty members and Deans of various Schools were also present.
Miss Ashimala Lakra, a student of the MSW Programme welcomed everyone and spoke on the significance of the event. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor spoke about the roles and responsibilities of the students under this initiative, Dr.Snigdharani Panda spoke on the depleting percentage of natural resources especially water and congratulated the School for taking the lead role in spreading awareness. After encouraging words from the Professor of Emeritus, a formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.Pragyan Mohanty, Dean STLS&TR, KISS-DU.
