- Collaboration at International Level:
- KISS is a fully free residential home for 80,000 students in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since the year 2015. It is registered under Societies Act XXI of 1860. Its higher education unit, KISS Deemed to be University has been declared Deemed to be University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human resource development, Government of India, New Delhi since 2017. KISS has been conferred UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize 2022 for its contribution to preservation of indigenous languages.
- KISS and KISS-DU join the network of Nature Positive Universities (NPU). NPU is a partnership between the University of Oxford, UNEP Youth & Education, and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. - FIVB Signs MoU with KIIT & KISS for Volleyball Promotion in India & South Asia
In a groundbreaking move, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) to advance youth volleyball in India and South Asia. The MoU, signed between FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F and KIIT & KISS Founder Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta at FIVB Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland in December 2022, marks the first-ever collaboration of FIVB with an educational institution to popularize and boost the sport. Under this partnership, KISS, renowned as the world’s largest university for indigenous students, will transform into a center of excellence for volleyball training and related educational opportunities, further propelling the growth of volleyball in India. Additionally, KIIT & KISS will serve as a training hub for national youth volleyball teams, providing specialized training and educational programs for aspiring athletes, fostering the sport’s development in the region.
- Know India Programme organized at KISS-DU
KISS-DU and KIIT-DU hosted a 38-member Know India Programme (KIP) delegation of young overseas Indians from eleven Girmititya countries, sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. emphasized the close ties between the participating countries and India, highlighting the Indian diaspora as a strength. The delegates were invited to visit sites of cultural and archaeological significance in and around Bhubaneswar.

- The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has signed a partnership agreement with the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) to provide the online Self-directed Emotional Learning for Empathy and Kindness (SEEK) course for KIIT-KISS staff and students in a phased manner. https://university.kiss.ac.in/posts/mou-kiss-unesco/
- Collaboration with Government at National Level:
- The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) organized a national level workshop on the status review and assessment of the implementation of NEP 2020 on 7 th December 2022. The programme was organized in presentation-cum-discussion mode. Professor Jugal Kishore Mishra, Director IQAC and Er. Atul Nag, Associate Professor, Computer Science Programme, School of Comparative Indic Studies, KISS-DU presented some of the key initiatives taken by the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University for implementing NEP 2020 and threw light on some of the challenges faced and strategies evolved on specific themes like: Transforming the university into a multidisciplinary institution of higher education; Multiple Entry and Exit; Academic Bank of Credit and Transfer of Credit; Four-year undergraduate course and Internationalization of higher education. Under NEP preparedness, till date KISS-DU has adopted a multidisciplinary approach towards education since its inception; internationalization of higher education; successfully implemented Outcome-based Education and registered itself in the Academic Bank of Credits.
- KISS Deemed to be University inked MoU with the Indian Institute of Bio-social Research and Development (IBRAD), (Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Tribal Development, Ministry of Tribal Development) Kolkata on 6th July 2022. The key areas of collaboration are: organize residential training programmes, jointly hold research and field activities, organize national and international seminars, symposia and conferences on topics of common interests, exchange human resources between the two institutions, promote short term internship of trainees for specific assignments, exchange of e-resources/audio visuals/documentary videos, jointly work together for successfully organizing the World Anthropology Congress in 2023 and establish a mini tribal museum at KISS-DU and community museums at village levels focusing on PVTGs with the support of IBRAD. https://university.kiss.ac.in/posts/kiss-du-inks-mou-with-ibrad/
- The KIIT and KISS DU on Monday entered into an agreement with the Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU) on January 30, 2023, to promote and popularise Rugby both at the grassroots level and the high-performance level. As per the MoU, KIIT-KISS has become the only university in India to be the associate sponsor of Rugby India for the next three years. The State Government remains the main sponsor of the game. - Aspire Leaders Program (ALP), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) on March 13, 2023. This fully-funded program has been designed to provide leadership development opportunities to 18-26 year olds from low-income, first-generation college backgrounds. With access to Harvard coursework, world-class faculty, and a global network, ALP aims to expose the current students and Alumni to new skills and help in catalyzing their aspiration and enable and empower the participants to drive changes in their communities.
