Have an admissions policy which is non-discriminatory or which details and explains the logic for any appropriate positive discrimination policies in admissions
KISS Deemed to be University follows a non-discriminatory admissions policy that aligns with its mission as KISS-DU in principle offers quality education only to underprivileged indigenous students. The university’s admissions process has provisions for inclusivity and equal opportunity, ensuring that all applicants are treated fairly regardless of gender, caste, religion, or socioeconomic background.
As per Clause 24 of Memorandum of Association of the University, ‘Institution deemed to be University open to all’
- The institution Deemed to be University shall be open to the persons of all genders and of whatever caste, creed, race or class, and it shall not be lawful for the institution deemed to be University to adopt or impose on any person, any test whatsoever of religious belief or profession in order to entitle him or her to be appointed as a faculty member of the institution Deemed to be University or to hold any other office therein or to be admitted as a student in the institution Deemed to be University or to graduate there at or to enjoy or exercise any privilege thereof: Provided that nothing in this section shall be deemed to prevent the institution deemed to be University from making special provision for the employment or admission of women, persons with disabilities, or of persons belonging to the weaker section of the society and, in particular, of the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and the other socially and educationally backward classes of citizens.
- All policies and procedures, in matters of admission, fee, and employment as applicable to the university level public funded and self-financing institutions, respectively, shall apply.

KISS-DU joins the nation in acknowledging and recognizing the need to protect, preserve and promote the socio-cultural fabric of tribal communities and underlining their seminal role in nation-building, the makers of the Constitution of India made special provisions for the protection of rich tribal culture, heritage and the development of Scheduled Tribes. These include the conservation of their language, script, knowledge system, heritage and other cultural elements, ensuring their educational interests, providing economic safeguards and taking steps for political empowerment. Keeping in mind the history of lack of equity and equality, KISS since its inception has decided in principle to impart education exclusively to only indigenous students with an endeavour to provide a fair platform to the students from marginalized sections.
KISS-DU is a unique institution which is committed to social justice and empowerment. KISS-DU has adopted positive discrimination policies as appropriate, particularly in favor of girl child from Scheduled Tribes (ST). This affirmative action syncs with government policies which aim at uplifting marginalized communities, which is the basis of KISS-DU’s founding principles.
- The details of KISS-DU’s admissions policies, including these considerations, are available publicly to ensure transparency and accountability in line with the university’s mission
