An awareness campaign on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was organised by the School of Tribal Legal Studies and Tribal Rights in association with NSS Bureau and Internal Quality Assurance Cell of KISS Deemed to be University on 16.08.2025 with great enthusiasm. At the outset Dr. Manoranjan Mohapatra delivered the welcome address followed by Dr. Pragyan Mohanty, Associate professor and Dean, highlighted the meaning of substance abuse and the relationship between domestic violence and substance abuse and the strategies for prevention. Dr. Maitree Padhi, NSS programme officer in her speech emphasized on need for and importance of Nasha Mukt Abhiyan with real life examples. She also talked about the negative consequences of drug addiction. Distinguish faculty members Saismita Swain, Dr. Madhusmita Sahoo, Madhusmita Barik spoke about the impact of substance abuse and how to avoid negative peer pressure and the importance of positive mind. Six students also shared their experiences of their community and their responsibility for creating a drug free India. A pledge was taken to promote awareness and commitment towards Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. In his speech Dr. Prashant Routray, Registrar KISS DU highlighted on the the role responsibility of the youth in Nasha Mukt Abhiyan. In the post lunch sessions, the NSS volunteers with programme officer and programme coordinator conducted an awareness campaign with slogans on Nasha Mukti Abhiyan. At the end Dr. Pabitra Das, Assistant Professor in Social Work addressed the queries of the students and offered vote of thanks. Overall, the event seemed to be a successful initiative in promoting awareness about Nasha Mukt Bharat and empowering students to take action against substance abuse.
