The School of Tribal Resource Management (STRM) and Research and Development Cell (RDC) at KISS Deemed to be University jointly organized a special talk on “Designing Survey Questionnaire” for its research scholars on 30th July 2025. The session was delivered by Dr. Kharabela Rout, Assistant Professor, B.Voc, (Entrepreneurship Development), KISS-DU. The event began with a warm welcome and introduction of the speaker by Dr. Arpana Premi Lina Oraon, Dean, STRM and Director, R&DC. She highlighted Dr. Rout’s academic contributions and his expertise in research methodology and entrepreneurship development.

Dr. Rout opened the session by emphasizing the importance of well-designed questionnaires in quantitative research. He explained how a structured questionnaire enhances the reliability and accuracy of data collection, thereby improving the overall quality of research outcomes. He outlined key strategies for designing effective survey questionnaires, covering essential elements such as framing clear and unbiased questions, logical sequencing and choosing the right response formats. A significant part of the session focused on measurement scales, including how to select and adapt validated scales for academic research.

The session was highly interactive with enthusiatic participation from the research scholars. A dedicated question-and-answer round allowed scholars to engage directly with Dr. Rout, seeking clarifications and practical advice for their ongoing research work.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging Dr. Rout’s engaging presentation and the relevance of the topic for doctoral research. The talk received positive feedback from the scholars and was considered extremely valuable in strengthening their understanding of survey design and quantitative research methods.

This academic engagement reflects KISS Deemed to be University’s ongoing efforts to nurture quality research and provide its scholars with expert mentorship.
