Dr. Rasmita Tripathy, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Odia at KISS Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, was invited as a distinguished Resource Person at the One Day National Seminar on “Palli Kabitare Odia Asmita”. The seminar was organized by Music Plus in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Government of Odisha, and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL). The event took place at the Guru Kelucharan Odishi Gabesana Kendra, Bhubaneswar.

Dr. Tripathy delivered an insightful presentation in a plenary session on the topic “Sabitri Brata Upakhyanare Narira Mahaniyata ebong Odia Asmita” (The Greatness of Women and Odia Identity in the Narrative of Sabitri Brata). Her address highlighted the cultural and literary significance of the Sabitri Brata narrative in shaping the values, strength, and identity of Odia women, while also emphasizing its role in reinforcing Odia cultural pride and tradition.

The seminar was graced by the presence of various eminent personalities from the fields of art, culture and corporate, whose participation added a rich cultural dimension to the academic discourse. Dr. Tripathy also had the honour of chairing the session comprising of a panel of enriched dignitaries, where she facilitated thought-provoking discussions and encouraged scholarly engagement with the themes of rural poetry and cultural identity.

Her participation in the seminar was widely appreciated and added immense value to the event, reinforcing her stature as a respected scholar in the field of Odia literature and cultural studies. Dr. Tripathy also mentioned about some of the key initiatives taken by KISS Deemed to be University pertaining to preservation, and promotion of indigenous culture, languages and heritage, she  expressed her heartfelt appreciation for Professor Achyuta Samanta, Hon’ble Founder of KIIT, KISS and KIMS for fostering opportunities that enable academicians to engage in impactful scholarly pursuits like this seminar.
