From Humble Beginnings to Academic Triumph: Rabindra Muska’s Inspiring Journey at KISS

Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University is immensely proud to announce the remarkable achievement of Rabindra Muska, an M.Sc. Computer Science student hailing from the School of Indigenous Knowledge Science and Technology, KISS-DU who has successfully cleared the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025.

Rabindra’s journey at KISS is a testament to the transformative power of education and the unwavering support provided by the institution. He first stepped onto the KISS campus on 11th November 2011November as a fourth-grade student from the Kandha Tribe. Coming from a family of six, including his farmer father and mother who is a homemaker, Rabindra recognized education as his gateway to a brighter future.

“KISS became my second home,” Rabindra reflects. “Over the past 14 years and 4 months, I have been privileged to receive quality education, mentorship, access to invaluable resources, and unwavering support from the dedicated staff and excellent campus infrastructure. As I grew at KISS, so did my dreams.”

Rabindra nurtured a deep interest in Computer Science and research, leading him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in the field and subsequently enrolled in the M.Sc. Computer Sciences. The defining moment of his academic journey arrived when he qualified for GATE 2025, a prestigious national-level examination for Engineering and Science graduates, with a score of 289 (23.24 marks). This achievement opens doors for him to pursue further research, including a Ph.D.

On being asked to share his journey Rabindra attributes his success to his hard work, resilience, and the invaluable guidance he received from Mr. Deepak Kumar Baral (Lecturer, Computer Science) and the entire Department of Computer Science. He also expresses deep gratitude to KISS and its esteemed Founder, Professor Dr. Achyuta Samanta, for providing him with the platform, opportunities and support necessary to achieve his dreams. “From a young fourth-grade boy with dreams to a scholar with a promising future, my story is an inspiration to many Kissians and beyond. My journey proves that with the right opportunities and determination, success is within reach. KISS has created infinite possible opportunities for tribal students, and it is crucial that we utilize them effectively. I am proud to be a Kissian.”, concluded Rabindra.

Rabindra’s success story embodies the spirit of KISS, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to empowering tribal students and providing them with the tools they need to achieve their full potential. His achievement serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for all students at KISS and beyond.
