It was a red-letter day for KISS-DU as it adopted its first village at Balunka of Daruthenga, Gram panchayat on 8th May 2022. The aim of adoption of village or area is to infuse new ideas of development to the villagers which would improve their living conditions. The villagers have invested their trust and faith on the NSS wing and extended full cooperation in making the Plantation Drive a success.

This proud moment was graced by Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, KISS-DU and Dr. Kanhu Charan Mahali, Director General, KISS-DU. NSS programme officers and volunteers were present there. The importance of tree plantation is quite significant as it is associated with our basic needs and protecting our planet and tackle climate change.
