Ms. Junu Birua, a P.G 2 nd Year Commerce student of KISS Deemed to be University bought laurel for the university by bagging a position in the Indian University team to participate in the FISU World Chess Championship 2024 to be held in Entebbe, Uganda from 25 th to 30 th June 2024. She is the first tribal girl from Odisha who has been selected in the Indian Universities Chess Team. Earlier, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) conducted the selection trials of Indian Universities Chess (Women) Team at KIIT Deemed to be University from 18 th to 22 nd April 2024. Professor Achyuta Samanta, Hon’ble Founder KISS and KIIT, congratulated her for being a part of the Indian University Chess Team and wished her good luck for the said championship.
