Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University, rises in the Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, moving from the 1001–1500 global band in 2025 to the 401–600 band among 1,603 participating institutions in 2026. Times Higher Education publishes the Impact Rankings to assess universities worldwide based on their contributions towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and augmenting the attainment of UN Agenda 2030.

In SDG 1 (No Poverty), KISS-DU has entered the 101–200 global band, supported by strong anti-poverty programmes and extensive student financial aid. The University’s performance on SDG 4 (Quality Education) has advanced to the top 100 globally, ranking 90th , reflecting strong outcomes for first-generation learners and graduates with teaching qualifications. In SDG 5 (Gender Equality), KISS-DU ranked 60th globally, supported by measures of women’s access, representation of senior female academics, and strong progress indicators. In SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), the University has moved into the 401–600 band, with strengthened inclusion practices and representation of students from developing countries. SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) has also advanced to the 601–800 band, reflecting the growth of collaborative initiatives and global partnerships.

These achievements align with the University’s model of providing fully free residential education to thousands of indigenous children, in which sustainability is part of everyday practice. The 2026 ratings highlight KISS-DU’s inclusive systems, community-rooted programmes, and a learning environment shaped by responsibility and care. It also reflects KISS’s longstanding commitment to providing free, holistic education to tribal and underprivileged children while promoting inclusive and sustainable development.
