Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University, in collaboration with the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), successfully organized a special edition of the “Sundays on Cycle” campaign on 15th February 2026. This national fitness initiative, conducted under the aegis of the FIT INDIA Movement and the Khelo India Scheme, aimed to integrate physical activity into the daily lives of students and staff. The event took place at the Minati Mohapatra Cycling Velodrome in Bhubaneswar, starting at 7:00 AM, and saw an enthusiastic turnout of 124 participants, primarily comprising athletes and university students.
The campaign, which has evolved from its inception in 2019 into a nationwide movement reaching over 2.2 lakh locations, was organized emphasizeing the importance of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) actively participating in the FIT INDIA Movement to disseminate the vital message of “Fitness ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz.” By participating as a SAI Extension Center, KISS-DU joined a collective effort involving flagship events at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi, and Parade Ground, Dehradun, to promote thirty minutes of daily exercise as a cornerstone for long-term health and wellness.
The drive at KISS-DU featured a cycling route centered around the Minati Mohapatra Velodrome Stadium at KISS Campus-4. The event served as a platform to align the university with national goals recognized by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in his Mann Ki Baat addresses. By mobilizing its community, KISS-DU reaffirmed its commitment to the FIT INDIA Mission’s vision of making India a fitter and more active nation.
