The Department of Education under the School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology (STHTI) organized a distinguished lecture on “NEP-2020: Major Transformations” on 15th September 2025 in collaboration with NEP SAARTHI Cell, and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), KISS-DU. Professor Manoj Kumar Saxena, Dean, School of Education, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharmashala (H.P)and UGC Standing Expert Committee graced the occasion as the distinguished speaker.
Dr. Sujata Acharya, Dean, STHTI introduced the speaker by highlighting his extraordinary contributions in the field of research and education.
Professor Kashi Nath Jena Pro Vice Chancellor, KISS-DU in his deliberation emphasized the relevance and significance of NEP-2020 in the present context. He also advised the gathering to contemplate the key objectives of the policy before implementing them at the ground level.
Professor Manoj Kumar Saxena in his presentation highlighted some of the key milestones reached before the launch of NEP 2020. He spoke on NEP SAARTHIs and their role in bringing academic reforms in higher education and creating awareness on the recommendations of NEP 2020 before the stakeholders. He stressed on the need of nurturing the human resources of a country, exemplifying the history of renaming the Ministry of Human Resource Development as the Ministry of Education. He focused on the implementation procedure of the Academic Bank of Credits at the University level and explained the technical issues related to it. He also focused on Entry and Exit of students at higher education level.
During the question-answer session, the students, scholars, among other NEP SAARTHIs showed enthusiastic participation.
Professor B.B. Mishra, Professor Emeritus, KISS-DU summed up the session and Ms. Saswati Jena, HoD, Education proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Ananya Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology moderated the session. what is the secret to add meaning and purpose to life and introducing spiritual intelligence as a value-added course in the curriculum.
