The Department of Economics, School of Tribal Resource Management in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, KISS-DU jointly organized a Distinguished Invited Lecture on “ Digital Lending – The New Horizon of Banking” on 17th October 2025. Shri. Manoranjan Mishra, Former Director of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was invited as the resource person on the occasion.
Professor Debasish Bandyopadhyay, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, KISS-DU delivered the Welcome Address, wherein he highlighted Political Economy, Distribution of Wealth and Malthus Theory. Speaking in turn, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor, KISS-DU, Professor Kashi Nath Jena addressed the gathering and talked about the Monetary Policy of RBI.
Speaking earlier, Mr. Subhendu Mohanty, Additional Director, Students Affairs introduced the guest and highlighted the major milestones achieved by the esteemed speaker. While delivering the Keynote Address, Shri. Manoranjan Mishra, Former Executive Director, RBI highlighted how GDP depends upon the lending policy of RBI and the initiatives taken by RBI in order to fuel the economy. In his deliberation, he shared that Identification through KYC; Payment Layer (UPI); Requirement of Data (Digital Footprint) and Concept Framework are the four pillars of modern day banking. Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU emphasized on digital security and digital campus. He concluded by urging the students to present this knowledge to their parents and peers.
