The School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures, at Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences Deemed to be University (KISS-DU) organized a distinguished invited guest lecture on “Odia Sahityare Anubaada Eka Samikhya: Anukruti Tharu Anubaada Parjyanta” on 23rd January 2024. The event aimed to delve into the nuances of translation in Odia literature and its comparative aspects. 

The program commenced with a warm Welcome Address by Dr. Rasmita Tripathy, Associate Professor, and Dean of the School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures (SCTLL), KISS-DU. Dr. Tripathy welcomed the distinguished guests, faculty members, and students present and set the tone of the lecture.

Dr. Pallishree Pattnayak, Assistant Professor, and Head of the Department of Odia at Maa Manikeshwari University (formerly Kalahandi University), delivered an enlightening address on the significance of translation in Odia literature. Dr. Pattnayak’s insights shed light on the evolution of translation in Odia literature, its challenges, and its role in fostering cultural exchange and understanding.

The lecture was followed by an engaging interaction session where the speaker, along with faculty members, interacted with the students of the School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures.
