The 91st Death Anniversary of Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das was observed on 4th February 2025 at 4 PM at the Conference Hall, 2nd Floor, Administrative Building, KISS Campus 3, KISS Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The event was jointly organized by the Madhusudan Das Research Chair and the Odia Department, School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures (SCTLL), in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, KISS Deemed to be University.

The session commenced with an introductory address by Mr. Sukul Marndi and Ms. Sanjulata Ho, Ph.D. Scholars, who highlighted the significance of the day and paid homage to the great leader. Following this, a welcome song, “Santana ra Ukti”, written by Madhusudan Das, was performed by the choir comprising students of SCTLL. Mr. Jyotiranjan Gudia, Ph.D. Scholar, made a documentary film on the life of Madhusudan Das.

To honour the legacy of Madhusudan Das, students of PG 1st Year and 2nd Year from the Odia Department, SCTLL, recited his poems. Additionally, some students showcased their literary talents by reciting self-composed poems dedicated to Madhusudan Das and delivering speeches on his life and contributions.

The highlight of the event was the address by Prof. Nirmal Chandra Dash, Professor Emeritus, who was deeply mesmerized by the presentations. Dr. Tripura Mishra, Associate Professor KISS-DU, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the values and teachings of Madhusudan Das. Professor Jugal Kishore Mishra, Chair Professor, Madhusudan Das Research Chair and Director IQAC and Dr. Rasmita Tripathy, Associate Professor and Head of the Odia Department, further enriched the event with their insightful addresses to the august gathering.

The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Jugson Naik, Ph.D. Scholar, Odia Department, KISS DU, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, participants, and organizers for making the event a success. The event served as a fitting tribute to Madhusudan Das, inspiring attendees to uphold his vision and contributions to society.
