The Home Science Programme, School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology (STHTI), KISS-DU organized an Invited Lecture on “Role of NEP 2020 in Promoting Multilingual Education” on 24th August 2024.
Dr. Madhubrata Mishra, Assistant Professor, Home Science, STHTI, started the seminar by briefly introducing the resource person – Dr. Sujata Acharya, Associate Professor, Education Programme, STHTI, KISS-DU.
Dr. Sujata Aacharya, Associate Professor of Education, shared her insights on the role of NEP 2020 in today’s education. She also stressed some of the sections of the Indian Constitution that the Government has made. She emphasized the need for mother-tongue-based education and mother-tongue-based teaching and learning materials. She also focused on bilingual and multilingual education, which is beneficial for students as well as teachers. Dr. Acharya cited the example of KISS in promoting bilingual and multilingual education since its inception.
Dr. Madhubrata Mishra, coordinated the Q/A Session. Over seventy students attended the Invited Lecture. Ms. Maitri Padhi, Faculty in Sociology proposed a Vote of Thanks.
