The IIC members of KISS-DU attended the MIC-driven activity on “Building a Pipeline of Quality Innovation and Startups in HEIs by Creating and Managing YUKTI Innovation and IP Repository (YIIR) in HEIs” conducted by the Institution Innovation Council, Ministry of Education, Government of India on 2nd August 2024.

While addressing the gathering, Dr. Dipan Sahu, Assistant Director, IIC, MoE, discussed the advantages of participating in YUKTI Innovation and IP Repository. He also touched upon the challenges faced by the institutions, namely innovation and startup benchmarking practices; difficulties in identifying entrepreneurial potential individuals; redundancy efforts in scouting innovations; lack of quality ideas/innovations; ad-hoc approach for resource allocation; mobilization and utilization; the quest for a strong and continuous pipeline of innovations for startups; and sustainable pathways of entrepreneurship. He also shared the four key stakeholders of YIIR – Innovators, Ecosystem enablers, Mentors, and IIC institutions.

Further, Mr. Sahu also discussed an integrated approach, touching upon the role of Innovation Centres, such as easy access to seed funds, grant support, enhanced IP literacy, and the like. He concluded the session by highlighting the advantages for innovators.
