The KISS-DU AURORA Club observed International Youth Day on 12th August 2024. The Post Graduate Students of English Programme, School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures, KISS-DU who are also the members of the AURORA Club participated in an elocution session highlighting the significance of the day.

The event was marked by insightful speeches and discussions focusing on the significance of the day and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); power of youth and year-wise themes on which the United Nations has been emphasizing since 2000. International Youth Day, observed annually on August 12, is a day dedicated to recognizing the contributions of young people to society and addressing the challenges they face. This year’s theme emphasized the importance of youth engagement in achieving the SDGs, which aim to create a more sustainable and equitable world.

Several students delivered speeches on the significance of International Youth Day. They emphasized the role of youth in shaping the future and the importance of their active participation in societal development. The students also discussed various SDGs, including quality education, gender equality, and climate action, and how they can contribute to these goals.

The event not only highlighted the significance of the day but also inspired students to take an active role in achieving the SDGs. The university’s commitment to empowering youth and fostering a sense of responsibility towards global challenges was evident throughout the celebrations.
