KISS-DU (Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences-Deemed to be University) and CII-Young Indians (Confederation of Indian Industry-Young Indians) have partnered to address the growing addiction issue among youth. This collaboration aims to raise awareness and promote preventive measures to combat substance abuse.
Over 200 students participated in a recent event held on 30 July 2024, gaining valuable insights into the dangers of addiction and the importance of staying informed. The event featured key speakers such as Dr Rahul Pradhan and Mr Vishal Dalmia, who emphasised the urgent need for collective action. They discussed various effective strategies to prevent substance abuse, highlighting the role of education and community support in tackling this menace.
Dr Rahul Pradhan spoke about the psychological and social factors contributing to addiction, stressing the importance of early intervention and continuous support for affected individuals. Mr. Vishal Dalmia focused on the societal impact of addiction and the need for comprehensive policies and programs to address the issue at multiple levels.
The event underscored the significance of collaborative efforts between educational institutions, industry bodies, and the community to create a supportive environment for youth. By fostering awareness and providing resources, KISS-DU and CII-Young Indians seek to empower students to make informed choices and lead healthier lives.
