On the 22nd of January 2025, a group of 50 female students and 3 faculty members of Bachelor in Business Administration, SRB Government Women’s College, Berhampur, visited KISS and KIIT as part of their study tour. The visit was organized and hosted by the School of Tribal Resource Management at Conference Hall-2, Administrative Building, KISS-DU Campus-3, with an engaging and enriching programme designed to showcase the unique educational and cultural initiatives of both KISS and KIIT.
The guests were warmly received in a traditional manner by the Cultural Team of KISS-DU, setting the tone for a culturally immersive experience. The programme was anchored by Ms. Manisha Laguri and Ms. Rinki Majhi, Research Scholars at KISS-DU. The official event began with a captivating KISS video presentation, offering a comprehensive overview of the University’s Vision, Mission, Values, and impact of the empowerment of tribal communities through education, skill development, and cultural preservation. and welcome song in Kuvi language. The formal felicitation of the guests was done by the Chairperson Council of Deans Dr. Snigdharani Panda, Dean of STRM Dr. Arpana Premi Lina Oraon and Head of the Cultural Wing, Dr. Tripura Mishra who presented the delegation mementos as a token of appreciation. The Welcome Address was delivered by the Chairperson of the Council of Deans Dr. Snigdharani Panda who highlighted the significance of the visit and expressed gratitude for presenting the opportunity to share the institution’s work with the guests. This was followed by an address by Dr. Tripura Mishra. She spoke about the institute’s core values and its commitment to empowering tribal communities.
Dr. Prabina Kumar Padhi, Assistant Professor and HoD, BBA, SBRG College, Berhampur the guest, expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the visionary Founder of KISS and KIIT Professor Dr. Achyuta Samanta, acknowledging the immense contribution the founder has made in creating a transformative platform for tribal empowerment. Dr. Padhi stated, “We are immensely thankful to the visionary Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta whose commitment and efforts have created this extraordinary platform for empowering tribal communities. This experience has been truly eye-opening and transformative, and we leave with enriched knowledge and a deep appreciation for the sustainable and inclusive practices implemented here.” He also appreciated the hospitality and the warmth shown by KISS throughout the visit.
The formal part of the programme was concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Baijanti, a Research Scholar, expressing sincere gratitude on behalf of the visitors. Following which a campus tour was organized for the delegation.
Special emphasis was placed on the Velodrom, which holds the distinction of being the first of its kind in India, located at KISS and KIIT. The students and faculty were deeply impressed by the holistic educational model and the transformative work being done at KISS. During the tour, they gained valuable insights into the institution’s impactful efforts in empowering tribal communities, particularly through education, skill development, and the preservation of tribal culture. The visitors also had the opportunity to interact with KISS students, faculty members, and various stakeholders, exchanging ideas and learning about the collaborative environment that defines KISS. The faculty members accompanying the visitors from STRM, including Dr. Sanjeeta Devi, Dr. Liji Panda, Dr. Anwesha Chakraborty, Dr. Annada Shankar Dash and Mr. Udayan Mohanty played an essential role in guiding the visitors during the campus tour, providing valuable insights and fostering meaningful discussions. Before departing the campus the group had the privilege of meeting with the Vice Chancellor, KISS-DU, Professor Deepak Behera, who extended his blessings and offered words of encouragement to the visitors.
The entire visit was organized under the supervision of the Registrar, KISS-DU, Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, ensuring that all aspects of the programme were conducted smoothly and professionally. The study tour provided the visiting students and faculty with a deeper understanding of the extraordinary efforts undertaken by KISS and KIIT in the areas of education, skill development, and community empowerment.
The programme was both informative and inspiring, leaving the visitors with lasting impressions of the work done at KISS and KIIT. This visit was a great success, reinforcing the value of collaborative learning and cultural exchange between academic institutions.
