Dr. Naran Tudu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Santali, School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures, KISS-DU has been conferred the prestigious “Kabi Sadhu Ramchand Murmu Award” for the year 2025. The award was presented on 18th October 2025 during the 38th Foundation Day at the International Santali Literary Festival, organized by the All India Santali Writers’ Association (AISWA) at Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata.

This award, named after the legendary Santali poet and social reformer Sadhu Ramchand Murmu, recognizes outstanding contributions to Santali literature and cultural preservation. Dr. Tudu’s work in Parsi Baha reflects deep engagement with Santali identity, oral traditions, and contemporary expression.

An accomplished academician, Dr. Tudu earned his Ph.D. from Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, focusing on Santali folk songs. A UGC-NET/JRF awardee, he has published extensively on Santali literature, language, and culture, and actively participates in national and international literary forums.

Through his teaching, research, and creative writing, Dr. Tudu continues to promote indigenous knowledge system and advocate for the linguistic and cultural rights of tribal communities. This award highlights his dedication to the growth and recognition of Santali literature at both academic and public levels.
