The Department of Geography, School of Tribal Resource Management (STRM), KISS Deemed to be University, organised an Expert Lecture on 15th December 2025, aimed at enhancing academic understanding and research exposure among students and research scholars.
The programme was anchored and formally introduced by Dr. Monalisha Mishra, Head of the Department, Geography, School of Tribal Resource Management, KISS Deemed to be University. Dr. Snigdharani Panda, Chairperson, Council of Deans, and Director IQAC, KISS-DU, delivered the Welcome Address. This was followed by a brief address by Professor Gopal Krushna Panda, Professor Emeritus, KISS-DU who shared valuable insights and motivated students towards academic excellence. Speaking in turn, Dr. Arpana Premi Lina Oraon, Dean, School of Tribal Resource Management, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of such expert lectures in strengthening academic and research competencies.
The highlight of the programme was the expert lecture by Professor (Dr.) Sudhakar Dhondu Pardeshi, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, Maharashtra on “Geospatial Technology in Glacial Landform Dynamics: A Study of Satopanth and Bhagirath Glaciers in the Alaknanda Valley, Uttarakhand.” The lecture provided valuable insights into the application of remote sensing and GIS techniques in glacial research. The deliberation was followed by a Q&A session.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Anwesha Chakrabarty, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, STRM, KISS Deemed to be University.
