The All India Survey on Higher Education, State Unit organized a Training Workshop for All India Survey on Higher Education on 9th January 2023. Shri. Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary, IAS, Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha inaugurated the workshop and Shri R. Rajesh Dy. Director General, Ministry of Education, Government of India and Shri. Ritesh Patel, Asst. Director, Ministry of Education, Government of India were invited as resource persons for the workshop. Dr. Rashmi Mishra, State Nodal Officer, AISHE State Unit presented the background and set the tone of the workshop.
In his address, Shri Sethi highlighted some of the major milestones achieved by the AISHE State Unit in terms of uploading the data. He said that the educational scenario is going to change in the days to come and uploading quality data should be utmost priority of all the HEIs. He asked the Nodal Officers to sensitize their team members while filling up the Data Capturing Format (DCF). Shri. R. Rajesh suggested to lay focus on the accuracy of the data being furnished and highlighted some of the discrepancies from various institutions across the State and how it can be resolved. Further, he also emphasized that the institutions should be careful while filling up the format as NAAC and NIRF is based on AISHE.
Shri Ritesh Patel, delivered a brief presentation on the various paraphernalia of filling up the DCF. While talking about the relevance of AISHE, he said that AISHE provides data and feeds it to UNESCO Institute for Statistics, Sustainable Development Goals of the UN with emphasis on SDG – 4 and other international bodies for various purposes. Shri Patel discussed various sections and sub sections of the format in detail and answered the queries of the attendees.
Dr. Snigdharani Panda, Chairperson Council of Deans, Dr. Disha Bhatt Dy Director IQAC and Mr. Atul Nag Associate Professor represented KISS-DU in the training workshop.
