About the School

School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology (STHTI) is one of the seven Schools of KISS Deemed to be University (KISS-DU) with pedagogic programmes that embody the mission and vision of KISS-DU. STHTI envisages building KISS D-U as a premier institution of teaching, research, skill development and social entrepreneurship for the youth from marginalized tribal communities. Accordingly, it is committed to bringing about curricular novelty and pursuing academic excellence in its three Master’s Degree Programmes, namely Education, Psychology and Home Science.  

 STHTI does not just impart knowledge to the tribal students in the aforesaid core disciplines but also takes enough care to prevent possibilities of alienation of the students from their own culture and heritage while enabling them to participate in the mainstream of the Indian citizenry.  The curricular novelty is well reflected in the five innovative courses in Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology comprising components like tribal art, handicraft, textile, the status of women, religious beliefs and practices. Besides, it offers Value-added courses in subjects such as Tribal Cuisines, Social Reforms through Education: ideas of Gopabandhu Das, Self-help and Happiness, and Soft Skills like Communicative English and Data Analysis. These courses also gesture towards the vision and mission of KISS-DU.
