The UG First Semester Students of Library Science Programme under the School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology, KISS Deemed to be University visited KIIT Central Library on 5th December 2024. They visited the Digital Library, Media Section, Conference Room and Relax Zone and gathered information about the Books, Journals, Magazines, Bound Volume Journals and gained understanding of the process involved in classification and cataloguing while interacting with KIIT Library Staff.
They noted down the titles of the Books arranged in Special Section on Mahatma Gandhi and the Books donated to the Library by Hon’ble Founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The Library Staff Mr. Pabitra Kumar Choudhury talked about different sections of the Library to the students. Dr. Bijayalaxmi Routray, Director KIIT Central Library motivated the students to concentrate on reading and encouraged them to make reading as a regular habit.
Dr Sujata Acharya, Dean, School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology, discussed with the students about the purpose and importance of such Exposure Visits for the students as a part of their course curriculum. Mr. Rabin Kumar Khandayatray, Chief Librarian, KISS-DU suggested the students to prepare an Assignment on the said visit. The Exposure Visit was coordinated by the Library Staff of KISS-DU, Mrs. Namita Raj and Mrs. Gitanjali Nayak.
