Dr. Biraj Krushna Mishra, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Sanskrit, School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures (SCTLL), KISS Deemed to be University (KISS-DU), has been honoured with two prestigious awards—the Sahitya Seva Ratna Samman and the Bharateeya Padma Bhushan by the Sahitya Seva Award Council(Approved by Govt. of India), New Delhi. The awards were presented on 27TH June 2026 at the Mosaic Sandoz Banquet Hall, Delhi-NCR.
Dr. Mishra was selected for these honours for his unwavering dedication to the promotion of Sanskrit language and literature. For the past two decades, he has actively served as a preacher and promoter of Sanskrit through his voluntary association with the Lokabhasa Prachar Samiti, Puri and Bhubaneswar Samskruta Parisad and several other organisations.
He is a member of the Eastern India Oriental Sanskrit Conference (EIOC), the All India Oriental Sanskrit Conference (AIOC), Pune, and the International Association of Sanskrit Studies (IASS), Paris. His academic contributions include numerous research articles published in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters in reputed national and international publications, and more than 50 papers presented at national and international conferences.
Dr. Mishra expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Hon’ble Founder of KIIT and KISS, acknowledging him as a constant source of inspiration.
