Dr. Sujata Acharya, Associate Professor, Department of Education, School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology, KISS-DU was invited as a Resource Person at the prestigious ”Festival of Letters” organized by the Central Sahitya Akademi, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, New Delhi from 30th March to 4th April 2026. The six-day event was graced by galaxy literary luminaries from across India.  

 Addressing the attendees on 2nd April 2026 (4th day of the event),  Dr. Acharya spoke on the topic  “The Role of Odia Literature in the Indian Freedom Struggle” under the theme ”Indian Literature: The Cradle of Cultures” with special reference to the 150th Anniversary of ”Vande Mataram”. 

 She has been actively involved in the Central Sahitya on Malayalam Literature as a Reviewer and a Certified Translator from the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), National Translation Mission (NTM), Mysore. As a Translator and Dubbing Artist, she has the credit of translating and dubbing five short movies of ’The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), Government of India’  and a Jingle of ”Coir Board, Kerala.”   

 Apart from being a creative writer, Dr. Sujata Acharya has translated many fictions, poems, stories, novels, speeches, children literatures and folklores, mostly from Malayalam and other Indian and foreign languages into Odia, authored four books on literature, as well as a regular writer of the reputed and highly circulated Odia family magazine, ”Kadambini”.
