A student seminar was organised by the Department of Economics, School of Tribal Resource Management, KISS-DU on the impact of the recent crisis on Indian Economy held on 31st March 2026.

Dr. Sanjeeta Devi spoke about the impact of the crisis on the Indian economy. The key highlights of the discussion included – Geo political issues; Supply chain disturbance; Effect on energy security; Effects on foreign trade; Impact on foreign exchange; Livelihood; India imports about 85% of crude oil and 50% of gas, making it highly vulnerable to geo political shocks and Securing food security.

The two Ph.D. scholars in their deliberation opined that accelerating renewable energy is central to reducing import dependence on oil. Further they added that the national green hydrogen mission offers a pathway to decarbonise industries. While talking about the Supply chain resilience, they said that it cannot be built through isolated interventions. It requires an integrated, forward-looking approach involving government, industry, and Global partners. Create awareness among the people for economy in energy uses.
