A Distinguished Invited Lecture on “Transformative Pedagogy in Higher Education: PBL as the Engine for Holistic Development under NEP 2020” was held on 29th January 2026.

The programme was jointly organised by the NEP SAARTHI Cell, KISS-DU and the School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology (STHTI), in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The session began with a Welcome Address by Ms. Ankita Patra, PG-II, Commerce School of Tribal Resource Management, (STRM) and NEP SAARTHI representative, followed by the introduction of the guest by Dr. Ananya Das, Assistant Professor, Psychology (STHTI). An overview of NEP SAARTHI was presented by Dr. Sujata Acharya, Associate Professor, Education and Dean (STHTI) and Coordinator, NEP SAARTHI, along with Mr. Kusha Mandika, Ph.D. Scholar, Department of Computer Science School of Indigenous Knowledge Science and Technology (SIKST).  Mr. Subhendu Ku. Mohanty, Additional Director, Students’ Affairs, KISS-DU highlighted the role of experiential learning in the holistic development of the students.

The invited lecture was delivered by Professor B. B. Mishra, Professor Emeritus, Department of Education, KISS-DU, who elaborated on the significance of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) as a transformative pedagogical approach under NEP 2020, emphasizing its role in fostering critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and holistic development. The lecture witnessed active participation from a large number of faculty members, NEP SAARTHI committee members, and students of School of THTI, KISS-DU.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Ratnaprava Parija, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of English School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures (SCTLL) and Assistant Coordinator, NEP SAARTHI, KISS-DU.
