The School of Indigenous Knowledge, Science and Technology (SIKST), KISS Deemed to be University, successfully organized the Pre-Summit Event for IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026 on Thursday, 12th Feb at Computer Lab 3, Campus 4, KISS-DU, Bhubaneswar.

The event was conducted in accordance with the directive of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, as part of the nationwide initiative leading up to the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026 scheduled to be held in New Delhi on February 19–20, 2026.

The program was hosted by Dr. Bikram Biruli, who emphasized the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of education, research, and indigenous knowledge systems. In his address, he highlighted the importance of preparing students to become AI-ready professionals capable of contributing to national development under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat.

Dr. Nishikanta Naik, Faculty Member, delivered an insightful session on emerging AI trends, career opportunities, and the integration of AI into interdisciplinary research. He encouraged students to explore AI-driven innovation and develop skills aligned with the evolving job market.

The academic discussions were further enriched by research scholars Mr. Chinmay Nayak, Mr. Dauda Gomanga, and Mr. Bishwabhuban Nayak, who shared perspectives on AI-based research, innovation ecosystems, and startup opportunities. They highlighted the importance of ethical AI, inclusive technology development, and the role of Higher Education Institutions in nurturing AI-driven entrepreneurship.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) students, who actively engaged in discussions on – Awareness of AI courses and programs, AI trends and career pathways, Research and AI-based startups

The seven key themes of the IndiaAI Impact Summit, including Safe & Trusted AI, Human Capital Development, Science & R&D, Inclusion, Resilience, Democratizing AI Resources, and Economic Growth & Social Good

The program successfully created awareness about responsible AI adoption and reinforced the university’s commitment to innovation, inclusion, and sustainable technological advancement. The event concluded with a collective pledge to contribute meaningfully to India’s AI mission and to promote ethical, inclusive, and community-centred AI development.
