Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Advisor, KISS-DU conducted a Capacity Building Workshop for the research scholars of the University on 17th November 2025. In this context her briefed the scholars to map their research articles with Sustainable Development Goals and the various sub themes of the upcoming World Anthropology Congress to be held in November 2026.
Among others, Prof. S. Gregory, Member Secretary, United Indian Anthropology Forum, Dr. K. C. Mahali, Chairman Tribal Advisory Council, KISS-DU spoke on the occasion. The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Chittaranjan Bhoi, Dean, School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures, who greeted the guests and highlighted the importance of academic engagement in the lead-up to the World Anthropology Congress. Prof. S. Gregory inspired the research scholars by sharing valuable insights on research ideation and academic motivation. Professor Behera emphasized the importance of continuous writing, encouraging scholars to write at least one paragraph daily, use recent references, and strive for Scopus-indexed publications. He also underlined the value of auto-ethnography and the need for researchers to gain deeper knowledge about their own communities. Dr. K. C. Mahali, in his address, urged scholars to spread knowledge within their communities and ensure that their academic pursuits contribute meaningfully to society.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Kadey Soren, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, KISS-DU. The entire event was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Arpana Premi Lina Oraon, Director, Research and Development Cell, KISS-DU.
