Dr. Rasmita Tripathy, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Odia, School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures, KISS Deemed to be University was honoured with the prestigious Gyan Prakash Sahitya Samman – 2025 during a grand event held on June 22, 2025, at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. The award was presented as a part of the 9th Annual Function and Interdisciplinary National Conference on “Timeless Threads: Language, Culture and Education for Viksit Bharat 2047”, organised by GYAN PRAKASH, a nationally acclaimed educational magazine with ISSN and RNI registration.
The conference was a major gathering of intellectuals, scholars, and literary personalities from across India who deliberated on the intersections of language, culture, and education in the journey towards a developed India by 2047. The award recognised Dr. Tripathy’s exceptional contributions to Odia literature and her scholarly work in tribal linguistics. Receiving the Gyan Prakash Sahitya Samman – 2025 amidst an august gathering of national-level academicians and cultural figures, Dr. Tripathy expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organisers and her institution. She also expressed her gratefulness to Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Hon’ble Founder, KIIT & KISS, for giving her the platform to execute academic transactions. She emphasized the urgent need to integrate tribal languages and mother tongue education into mainstream academic discourse for building an inclusive and culturally enriched India.
The event was marked by insightful paper presentations and cultural showcases that reflected the core values of linguistic diversity and educational equity. Dr. Tripathy’s recognition served as an inspiration to many and reaffirmed the crucial role played by educators and language experts in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
