The National Institute of Electronic and Information Technology (NIELIT) Bhubaneswar conducted a Workshop on Exploring the avenues for skilling students in the area of IECT with hands-on tips on Cyber Security for Students of KISS-DU, Bhubaneswar on 19th January 2023. Over 100 students participated in the event. Ms. Sanghamitra Ray, Dy Director, Projects addressed the students regarding the objective behind organizing the workshop and its relevance in the era of the digital world. She also highlighted its importance for the students of KISS-DU.
Mr. Prashant Gupta, Principal Technical Officer from NIELIT graced the workshop as the resource person. Major topics covered in the session included – Authentication, Authorization, Multi Level Authentication, Choosing the right Password and Password Security, Phishing and its various types, Banking/ Financial Frauds like UPI/ QR code/ KYC related, Working safely with Social media, Threats with Mobile app permissions and Mobile hacking, etc. He also gave tips on how to secure yourself and your devices from attackers and Cyber Criminals and the process of reporting cases of mishaps to the concerned authorities as well to the Cybercrime Portal.
